Flora

THE INSPIRATION:

Chiara Andreatti's Flora depicts nature, which is primordial and primitive. Large Polynesian palm leaves are stylised and enlarged as in a blow-up, transforming the veins and superimpositions into a highly contemporary abstract motif.
The textured effect is due to the wet lay-up, a commonly used technique in Nove: in the transformation to three dimensions, the decorations take on an irregular effect that recalls the patterns found in fossils.
The superficial imperfections that render each piece unique are highlighted by the coloured crystalline and the satin paints applied, as required by tradition, by hand to achieve a gouache effect.

Depending on the desired surface finish and application, the Flora collection can be created using refractory clay, stoneware, or porcelain. Each raw material requires different handling, with customized glazes and longer firing cycles than usual (approximately twenty-four hours compared to the typical ten).
Flora is available in various formats, allowing for customized designs to achieve more or less movement, more or less decoration, with standard or specially designed color tones.
